Cástulo

Epoch:

It is a human settlement established since the end of the millennium III. BC. up to the fifteenth century.

During the Iberian period was the capital of the Oretania until the late third century BC. when the local aristocracy signs a pact with Scipio, by which the city acquired a free status that keeps its governing institutions in exchange for hosting a Roman garrison. This begun a process of Romanization of the city, probably culminating in imperial times when Castulo becomes municipality of Latin law, which involves the construction of new buildings, a large theater and probably also an amphitheater.

Todays they are much of the remains that can be found at the site located just at 5 km of Linares.
